Nestle Purina: Purrfecting Open Innovation in Pet Care

A mandate to deliver new growth to the Purina business by building new digital and diagnostic capabilities, and differentiated business models across the Find, Feed and Care consumer journey. An uphill battle against an ever increasing competitive landscape and active VC community, with more resources and more attractive offers to the start-up community. Nestle Purina needed to design a new approach for connecting and collaborating with high potential ventures. Venturebright were asked to design the strategy and business case for the creation of the Nestle Purina Open Innovation team and the Nestle Purina Pet Care Accelerator.

KLM: Keeping the Flying Dutchman flying

One key step in the process is to remove oxidation from the metal engine parts which forms at high altitude. Traditionally, this required placing the stripped-down parts in a series of acid baths. However, this is an imprecise, toxic and dangerous process and not without environmental cost. The world’s oldest airline was looking for a new way to clean engines.

Mahindra: Finding RoboFarmer

There are over 2 million Mahindra tractors operating worldwide today. But what does tomorrow’s tractor look like? The precision farming division of Mahindra wanted to know what new technologies and solutions were coming down the line in terms of robotics and automation to help the farmer increase output without additional effort or cost. Furthermore, with a focus on smaller Indian and Chinese farms, any technologies should be relevant to the specific needs and operating models of those business.

ABB Robotics: Improving collaboration between humans and machines

With advances in the market happening at such a high pace, we were asked to take ABB Robotics on a journey of discovery to understand what was going on and present opportunities to get involved outside of the business with promising ventures and innovators. Ultimately this would position the business to roll-out new products and features and get involved in new areas of robotics such as the growing collaborative robotics sector.
